The Cyber Security group at GPC is offering a 2018 Cyber Security Analyst Summer Internship Program for talented, curious and enthusiast undergraduate level student. As part of the group, you will be working with the cyber security team and business managers to deliver Cyber Security analytic capabilities in support of GPC Cyber Security initiatives.

The Intern will be responsible for assisting with multiple projects in any function, process, or business unit within the Company. While the Intern will report through the GPC IT Shared Services, throughout the internship, the Intern will be exposed to several other departments within the organization and may be required to assist in other areas as necessary.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing undergraduate level degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Industrial Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • Working knowledge of information systems security standards and practices (e.g., access control and system hardening, system audit and log file monitoring, security policies, and incident handling)

  • Security knowledge of one or more of the following platforms: Windows/Unix/Linux

  • Knowledge of F5 ASM, Cisco SourceFire IPS

  • Experience with DNS, NTP and Citrix, TACACS, IDS, IPS and various SIEMS

  • Knowledge of protocols and technologies such as TCP, UDP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, NetBIOS and DHCP

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Exceptional customer-service approach

  • Windows Operating systems, primarily Windows 7. Windows 10 and iOS is a plus

  • Microsoft Office Applications, O365 is a plus

  • Experience with mobile devices and mobile email

  • Experience with troubleshooting network-related issues, such as client connectivity

  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Possess confidence, flexibility and be a team player

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize work

  • Ability to communicate with individuals across all levels of the organization

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Overall grade point average of at least 2.75

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)

  • Strong work ethic

  • Willingness to work outside of regular business hours as required which can include evenings, weekends and holidays


Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Vulnerability Management

  • Enterprise Endpoint and Server Security

  • Assess and modify procedures to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access, modification or destruction.

  • Writes security reports and make recommendations.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational security rules and standards.

  • Conduct research to keep abreast of latest security issues

  • Prioritize remediation of gaps based on internal and external audits

  • Prepare compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
