The EDI & Integrations group at GPC is offering a 2018 Electronic Date Interchange Summer Internship Program for talented, curious and enthusiast undergraduate level student. As part of the group, you will develop and support Managed File Delivery and Electronic Data Interchange from several IT systems.

The Intern will be responsible for assisting with multiple projects in any function, process, or business unit within the Company. While the Intern will report through the GPC IT Shared Services, throughout the internship, the Intern will be exposed to several other departments within the organization and may be required to assist in other areas as necessary.


  • Currently pursuing undergraduate level degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Ability to understand basic Managed File Transfer Concepts

  • Basic understanding of Command Line FTP & SFTP

  • Basic understanding of Encryption processes

  • Experience with Sequel Server Reporting Services, Targit, Qliq or other report writing applications

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Exceptional customer-service approach

  • Windows Operating systems, primarily Windows 7. Windows 10 and iOS is a plus

  • Microsoft Office Applications, O365 is a plus

  • Experience with mobile devices and mobile email

  • Experience with troubleshooting network-related issues, such as client connectivity

  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Possess confidence, flexibility and be a team player

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize work

  • Ability to communicate with individuals across all levels of the organization

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Overall grade point average of at least 2.75

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)

  • Strong work ethic


  • Gather data reporting requirements from end users

  • Convert external FTP communications to SFTP & Connect Direct communications.

  • Build associated Rule base processing associated with Managed File Delivery.

  • Build associated SLA base processing associated with Managed File Delivery.

  • Handle day to day support issues associated with FTP & SFTP connections.

  • Maintain Contact database with updated data communication protocol changes.

  • Participate is design, development and deployment of Processes & Systems associated with Expiring Passwords.

  • Submit requirements to 3rd party vendors and other GPC SS IT groups

  • Test outputs

  • Produce end user dashboards and reports
